There’s a little place on Kingsway and Nanaimo called The Eldorado.  It’s a no-tell motel full of stories of love, loss and murder.  This is their house band.

Thursday, July 10 – THE CONTEMPORARY LOVERS           
Melodramatic pop music with a flair for flair. I’ll take this show with a Campari on ice.

Friday, July 11 – EARLSTOWN WINTER
Apparently, the winter in Earlstown is a bitch. It makes you wanna drink and think about being on a highway, headed for someplace better. S’ok by me.

They’re both good and lovely…folk-festin’ all the way from Toronto to teach us how they do pop/folk back east, ya know.

What’s in the water in Edmonton, anyway?  Did someone spill punk juice in the country well?  Well, someone didn’t clean it out! Another Edmonton lovechild of punk and country.  What is it about that city anyway?  Who cares, just keep ‘em comin, Eddy! Your bad booze, bad love and bad habits raise good kids.
